Businesses and InterestsEnseada do Paraguaçu Shipyard

Keeping up with the increased demand in the naval sector and engaged with the increasingly greater challenges related to deep-sea oil exploration, Odebrecht is participating in the Enseada do Paraguaçu Shipyard (EEP). The other partners include OAS, UTC and Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI), the latter a strategic technological partner.

The shipyard will begin operating in 2014 and will be designed for the construction and integration of offshore units, such as platforms, specialized ships and drilling rigs.

With an investment of R$ 2 billion, the highest private capital funding directed at Bahia over the last decade, EEP will be able to process up to 36,000 tons of steel per year when operating at full capacity. Its construction will generate 3,000 direct job opportunities and, after the start of operations, 5,000 direct and 10,000 indirect job opportunities.
