The Organization’s leading company in this activity, Odebrecht Engenharia Industrial was responsible for the Santos Waterway Terminal (São Paulo) and for the Revap Propane Unit in São José dos Campos (São Paulo), for Petrobras. It also constructed the Braskem Polypropylene Plant in Paulínia (São Paulo), the company’s first greenfield project and a good example of the synergy between Odebrecht businesses.

In 2009, Odebrecht Engenharia Industrial earned important contracts, such as the manufacturing of five submarines for the Brazilian Navy (Rio de Janeiro). Also included in its portfolio is the construction of the La Plata (Argentina) and Puerto La Cruz (Venezuela) refineries.

In 2010, it completed the construction work for the Braskem “green ethane” plant in Triunfo, Rio Grande do Sul, the first in the world to manufacture plastic from a100% renewable source.

It also won contracts in partnership with Petrobras, PDVSA, Braskem and ETH and continued with 19 projects for clients in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Venezuela.

In the United States, the company has several construction projects underway, including the North Terminal of the Miami International Airport and projects designed to contain flooding in New Orleans. In 2011, it earned the rights to its first port project in the country at Miami Port, designed to open up a route for the circulation of super cargo ships, and also began the maintenance work at the Petrobras Pasadena Refinery, located in Texas.

In Salvador, Bahia, Odebrecht, OAS and UTC formed a joint venture for the installation of the Enseada do Paraguaçu Shipyard (EEP), designed for the construction and integration of offshore units, such as rigs, specialized ships and drilling units.
