One of the tasks assumed by Odebrecht Infraestrutura is to ensure that Brazil stays on track, on the road and the navigation route. Its 33,000 Members, all located in the country, take part in important projects in the transport and logistics, mining, sanitation, sports arena and irrigation sectors, considered crucial for Brazil’s development, including, among others:

  • Subways
  • Highways
  • Railroads
  • Ports
  • Airports
  • Maritime Equipment

In addition to providing engineering and construction services, the company participates as investor and operator in new businesses through Odebrecht TransPort, focused on concessions in the highway, urban transport, logistics infrastructure (ports and ducts) and airport sectors.

The company has accumulated experience in large projects, such as stretches of the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro subways, the expansion of the Carajás and Ponta da Madeira railroad return loops and the construction and duplication of the duplication of D. Pedro I (São Paulo) highway.

Some of the highlights in 2011 included:

  • Advance of the construction work for the shipyard, naval base and manufacturing of metal structures for the Brazilian Navy’s Submarine Development Program (PROSUB) in Itaguaí (RJ).
  • Construction of the Embraport Terminal, the country’s largest multi-use terminal located in Santos Port (SP).
  • Start of the construction work for the Transnordestina Railroad superstructure, with construction sites in the states of Pernambuco, Piauí and Ceará, where some 10,000 people work.

In 2011, Odebrecht Infraestrutura was also recognized by the magazine Carta Capital as the “Most Admired Company in Brazil in the Construction Sector” and as the “Leading Company among the 500 Largest” in the same sector by the magazine O Empreiteiro.
